Myanmar

Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, is a Southeast Asian country located on the western part of the Indochinese Peninsula. It is bordered by Bangladesh to the west, India to the northwest, China to the northeast, Laos to the east, and Thailand to the southeast. Myanmar has a diverse range of ethnic groups, cultures, and languages. The country’s capital is Naypyidaw, while its largest city and commercial hub is Yangon (formerly Rangoon). Myanmar has a rich history, influenced by various civilizations and colonial rule, particularly by the British in the 19th century. The country gained independence in 1948. Over the years, Myanmar has experienced significant political turmoil, including military rule and struggles for democracy. The official language is Burmese, and the predominant religion is Buddhism. The economy is largely based on agriculture, but also includes sectors like natural resources, manufacturing, and tourism.
