J2 League

The J2 League is the second division of professional football (soccer) in Japan. It operates under the Japan Football Association and is part of the overall structure of the J. League, which also includes the top-tier J1 League. The J2 League was established in 1999 as a way to promote competition and provide a pathway for clubs to reach the J1 League. Teams in the J2 League compete for promotion to the J1 League, with the top teams at the end of the season granted promotion. Additionally, teams that finish at the bottom of the J2 League may face relegation to lower divisions. The league is known for its vibrant football culture, and it features a mix of established teams and rising clubs.
