Premier League

The Premier League is the top tier of professional football (soccer) in England, established in 1992. It features 20 clubs competing against each other in a league format, with each team playing 38 matches per season. The competition is known for its high level of play, intense rivalries, and significant commercial value, making it one of the most popular and viewed sports leagues in the world. The Premier League operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL) Championship, whereby the lowest-performing teams are relegated to the lower division, and the best teams from the Championship are promoted to the Premier League each season. The league’s season runs from August to May, and it culminates in the crowning of the league champion based on total points accumulated throughout the season.
