Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams, typically consisting of nine players each. The objective of the game is to score runs by hitting a pitched ball with a bat and running around a series of bases arranged in a diamond shape. The game is played on a field with four bases: first base, second base, third base, and home plate.

In baseball, one team plays defense while the other team plays offense. The defensive team tries to get batters from the offensive team out through various means, such as catching batted balls, tagging players, or throwing the ball to a base before the runner gets there. The offensive team aims to hit the ball into play and advance around the bases to score runs.

A standard game consists of nine innings, with each team having a turn to bat and a turn to field in each inning. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins. Baseball is widely known as America’s pastime and is played at various levels, from amateur youth leagues to professional major leagues. It is characterized by its unique terminology, gameplay strategies, and rich history.
